Operating principle / 01

Pressure is created in one rotating stage.

A pitot tube pump is a centrifugal pump in which the rotating casing adds energy to the liquid. A stationary pick-up tube then converts velocity energy into static discharge pressure.

Actual performance depends on the complete operating conditions, liquid properties and pump configuration.

Fluid enters

Process liquid enters near the center of the rotating case.

Rotor adds energy

Rotation accelerates the liquid toward the outer diameter.

Tube collects flow

The stationary pick-up tube intercepts the high-velocity liquid.

Pressure is recovered

Velocity energy is converted into static discharge pressure.

Can EHIK PUMP replace my existing Roto-Jet® pump?

It may be possible, but interchangeability cannot be assumed. We compare hydraulic performance, dimensions, interfaces, materials, sealing and driver data first.

Can you select from flow and discharge pressure only?

Only a preliminary review is possible. Suction conditions, liquid properties, temperature, materials and installation requirements are needed for final selection.

Is a pitot tube pump right for every high-pressure duty?

No. NPSHA, viscosity, vapor pressure, solids, corrosion, temperature and sealing limits must be reviewed for each application.

Can you quote from a nameplate photograph?

A nameplate helps identify the existing unit. A reliable proposal usually also needs the duty point, curve, datasheet and installation details.
